The need for students in Elementary Schools to be taught not only the technology such as computers, but lessons on how the technology itself works. What is inside a computer and how they work will better educate the students and will allow them to become more fluent with the tools that they use every day of the week.

A good podcast must contain 3 main points. There must be a clear message that carries from the beginning of the talk to the end of the talk. Second a podcast must be clear enough to be able to understand every word that is being spoken. Clear enunciation is key. Last the podcast must be able to draw the listener to a concussion. Whether that is an agreement with what the author is trying to say. A disagreement is also allowed, but the listener must have the ability to come to a conclusion about what was just heard.

If the podcast did not allow the listener to come to a conclusion, then the author of the podcast did not make the message clear enough. Music is also an great feature that can make a podcast or break it. While certain podcasts will work without music, great ones are able to seamlessly blend music with spoken word.

Story Corner, by Nazish Bajwa. Episode 1: "The Fisherman and his Wife", Grimm, Howe (part 1)

Shownotes: In this episode, we look at the story of "The Fisherman and his Wife", adapted from the Brothers Grimm, with illustrations by John Howe. In particular, wish number one. Curious? Just you wait and see how greedy people can be!
Check out the book on Amazon:http://www.amazon.ca/Fisherman-His-Wife-John-Howe/dp/1568461402

In this podcast my focus was using the editing tools to create a compelling narrative, with different effects to alter my own voice in order to play three different characters. The fisherman voice was created with the effect "change pitch", and the flounder voice with the effect "echo". I used quite a bit of audio cropping to ensure a brisk pace to the storytelling.

I found the music on Ioda Promonet, I felt the soothing yet slightly spooky tone perfectly fit the mood and setting.

Narrator: Nazish Bajwa

Music by Mathew McCright, Five preludes for piano III, from the album "Second Childhood"
